BENEFITS ANALYST

Primary Responsibilities for The Benefits Analyst

  • Under minimal supervision, administers Active Employee Health and Welfare benefit programs and internal programs.
  • Manages complex plans and vendors. Creates communication project plan annually. Leads Benefits communications project plan and develops communications.
  • Participate and complete Benefit Surveys annually.
  • Administers Wellness initiatives.
  • Provide various forms of assistance directly to employees in understanding and utilizing assigned benefit programs. (i.e. NH Orientation, OE meetings) Oversees the processing of administrative and claim invoices and maintaining financial records.
  • Works directly with Benefits Manager on ensuring compliance reporting is completed (ACA; SPD, SAR). Manages all compliance related mailings such as 1094c/1095c, SPDs, SARs, SBCs, 5500's, etc.
  • Supports Benefits Specialist with enrollment maintenance for employees in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS); maintains benefit-related data in HRIS. Creates and maintains process management in areas assigned.
  • Participates in the configuration and functionality of Human Resource Information System (HRIS) for Benefits which includes absence, enrollment, integrations, and reports for active and retirees. Assists Workday Benefits workstream lead - responsible for updates, functionality, and testing.
  • Assists with mergers and acquisitions regarding benefits related details.
  • Assist with active benefit renewals, communications, and planning meetings.
  • Reviews Summary Plan Descriptions to ensure administration concurs with Plan Documents.
  • Participates in team cross training to gain further knowledge of benefits programs and compliance with applicable government regulations.
  • Recommends new and/or improved employee benefit plans and cost-saving measures.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required for the Benefits Analyst

  • High School Degree required. Four- year college degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of Human Resources/Benefits experience with a focus on Health & Welfare plans.
  • Must have effective communication skills with employees within an organization.
  • Must be technologically adept and able to work with multiple applications.
  • Strong Analytical and technical skills, including intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Workday Benefits module experience.
  • Previous experience working with union contracts.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility with the ability to work independently and embrace teamwork and adapt to changes in working methods and techniques.
  • Effectively manages small projects or sub-teams, including coordination of resources out of one's own area. Knowledge of internal policy and processes and federal/state legislated compliance.
  • Strong organizational skills.
