Job Description

Primary Function:

Responsible for managing Minuet database of invention disclosures, patent applications and related legal correspondence, and agreements, which includes but is not limited to establishing and maintaining best practices to ensure accurate record keeping, resolving internal system conflicts, and identifying and correcting problems in historic records relating to deals that are still ongoing and active. Conducts interviews with researchers, patent counsel and external vendors to provide strategy to resolve record issues and conflicts.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages Minuet database of invention disclosures, patent applications and related legal correspondence, and agreements
  • Establishes, maintains and updates Minuet database action log including developing and implementation of SOPs
  • Resolves internal system conflicts, including identifying and correcting errors in historic records
  • Investigates third party report conflicts and material use situations
  • Conducts interviews with researchers related to collaborators, partnerships, project scope and to resolve document conflict issues.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • High School Diploma or GED required. B.S. degree preferred
  • Knowledgeable with database programs. Specific experience with Minuet software (formerly Inteum) preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, computer-operating, written and oral communication skills required; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and is sensitive to deadlines; ability to work independently and work closely with colleagues as it may need.
