Job Description

ISI designs, builds, installs and services material handling, conveyor and production systems for some of the biggest companies in the world. We have a 30-plus-year reputation for quality, and we believe in providing top-notch service done right the first time.

ISI is now seeking a qualified person for the position of hands-on Logistics Coordinator. This position will involve supervision of shipping, receiving, warehousing, the tool crib, and related material handling and truck loading/unloading. It will also have some inventory responsibilities.

Note that this is not a standard distribution warehouse. ISI ships complicated mixed loads, usually on flatbeds, and mostly shipped to our active industrial installation sites. These loads include machinery, components, parts, tools and equipment that are needed in order for work to continue at these jobsites. Organization, urgency and thoroughness are essential to success in this job, as are solid leadership and teamwork skills.

Though this is a supervisory position, it will require hands-on work. This can include lots of time spent outside in all weather conditions. A key responsibility will be ensuring the timely, accurate, complete, safe and secure loading of trucks and trailers bound for job sites throughout the US. Note that willingness to work lots of overtime and weekends as needed is an absolute must.

In this role, you will supervise and work with ISI's Logistics department personnel (Truck Driver, Tool Crib Attendant, Lead Material Handler and Material Handlers) as they and you perform the following duties (and more):

  • Tracking ISI trucks, trailers and tools;
  • Tracking inventory of commonly used parts;
  • Tracking items sent to and returning from jobsites;
  • Ordering parts, tools, bottled gases, consumables, etc.;
  • Receiving and filling requests from job sites for parts, tools and components;
  • Scheduling jobsite deliveries, including coordinating availability of trucks;
  • Creating load manifests;
  • Ensuring the safe, timely, complete and accurate loading, securement and unloading of ISI and vendor trucks and trailers;
  • Loading and unloading trucks using pallet jacks, forklifts and overhead cranes;
  • Light rigging;
  • Periodic inspection of all ISI trucks, toolboxes, and their contents and condition;
  • Receiving shipments, confirming counts and inspecting for damage;
  • Ensuring that ISI company trucks and onboard tools are properly signed out, checked in, and periodically audited;
  • Assembling company toolkits and ensuring they are signed out, checked in, and periodically audited;
  • Performing inventory-related tasks;
  • Keeping warehouse areas organized;
  • Ensuring that a neat, organized, safe and clean yard is maintained;
  • Occasionally making small deliveries to customers/job sites;
  • Ensuring documentation and data entry are complete, correct and current; and
  • Maintaining clean and organized work areas.

We offer very competitive pay ($27/hr OR MORE, depending on experience, skills and qualifications) and a solid benefits package (including health, dental and vision insurance), and a company-matched retirement plan.

Requirements

  • Excellent leadership, teamwork and communication skills
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the metal fabrication and/or construction industry is very helpful
