Job Description

Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make AMH the hospital of choice for Patients and Employees. Supports the mission of the institution to meet or exceed the internal or external customer utilizing established standards of behavior.

Coordinates activities and communication between Central Processing and the Operating Room, as well as Maternity and other areas of the hospital, to assure required supply and instruments are provided accurately and in a timely manner

Monitors all areas of the department to insure quality control, resolution of minor problems, and production efficiency.

Assists in determining departmental supply needs, notifies manager, and/or orders appropriately to maintain par levels and achieves this while staying within departmental budget.

Assists in training employees in proper procedures and instrument identification to insure a sufficient number of appropriately skilled personnel.

Schedules and supervises staff in each area on a daily basis to provide efficient operations

Serves as a resource person in determining appropriate supply and instrument needs and substitutions in order to prevent delays in patient care.

Performs other duties as required.

2+ years of experience as a Central Processing Technician required

High school graduate or equivalent education required.

Central Processing Technician certification or Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician certification required.

Certified Health Care Leader certification required within one year of hire.
