Job Description
Reports to:                             Assistant Vice President-Student Affairs
Supervises:                             Work Study Students

Primary function: Promote respect and inclusion; build and lead initiatives that support campus and multicultural student life, both on- and off-campus; foster campus interaction and dialogue. Assist as possible with other Student Affairs programming and cooperate closely with other departments to create a successful and supportive student environment.

Required Qualifications
Education: Pursuing Master's Degree in Higher Education or related field preferred; minimum requirement of Bachelor's Degree.
Experience: Previous experience with student affairs is preferred.

General duties
  1. Provide minority student support and engagement.
  2. Work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and members of the Benedictine community to maintain current support programs and develop additional services and programs to support students, with a special focus on minority populations.
  3. Collaborate with Benedictines in Residence and Campus Ministry to enhance students' understanding of our Benedictine, Catholic Mission. 
  4. Assist with developing and executing long and short-term measurable departmental goals, consistent with the College and department missions and strategic plan.
  5. Participate in organizing events such as the annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King celebration.
  6. Advocate for and support all minority students on- and off-campus to help promote a better environment for student success.
  7. Possibly serve as an administrative advisor for minority student organization.
  8. Assist in providing a minority mentor program in efforts to assist in support minority students’ transition to Saint Vincent College.
  9. Help promote increased understanding and appreciation of diversity among our campus community.

Special challenges and environment: Evening and weekend hours are required.
