The Analytics Advisory Associate Manager (Retail Planning and Forecasting Delivery Specialist) will manage delivery of analytics services for a retail client to deliver sales and inventory plans to optimize inventory allocation. This is a client-facing role with frequent communication and interaction, integrating the business cadence and gathering relevant information and strategies from merchandising, planning, and allocation teams. Business strategies are translated to identify, recommend, and implement planning and forecasting techniques using analytics. This professional will query a large database and run analyses to provide the client with business insight. This role works with a manager and an offshore delivery lead to manage and review deliverables based on client input and ensure service level adherence. This position must be based in the NJ area and will require local travel to client locations. There is no remote option so candidate must live in the NJ region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of the business process with the client stakeholders to ensure successful and timely delivery of forecasts and inventory plans.
  • Interact with appropriate client stakeholders (Director, Manager level primarily) to gather information required to execute pre-season and in-season plan generation and ask the right questions to gather required information.
  • Ensure that all information required to execute the planning and forecasting process is collected from client in timely manner. Manage calendars and timelines to align with client's planning cycle.
  • Understand business exceptions from the client (if any) and translate these exceptions into actionable items to incorporate into forecast and inventory plan generation.
  • Translate the information gathered from the client into direction for an offshore analytics team to execute. Follow up with the offshore team to ensure analyses and model outputs align with objectives and expectations.
  • Ability to explain machine learning models and other statistical techniques to a non-technical audience and be persuasive.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to client from requested analyses or analyses initiated independently. Manage client expectations related to changes in scope which may impact deliverable timeline or quality.
  • Ability to effectively translate impact of analytics tools into business metrics and to communicate analytical results to cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Develop appropriate presentations and/or provide supporting analysis to support client presentations, work sessions, and meetings.
  • Manage quality control reviews of key deliverables. Develop best practices for the team and foster continuous improvement.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders e.g., delivery leads, account management, clients, and offshore teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in merchandise planning, forecasting and / or inventory management
  • Minimum of 2 years of predictive modelling, machine learning and data science experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on Python coding involving a focus on DS packages

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Economics or Mathematics
  • Hands-on experience working with data
  • Experience in various statistical and machine learning models, data mining, unstructured data analytics in corporate or academic research environments
  • Familiarity with statistical techniques, including but not limited to Regression modeling, multivariate statistical modeling, clustering, and segmentation.
  • Proficiency in statistical and other tools/languages - Python, Pyspark, SQL, and Databricks
  • Strong Excel and Power point skills

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Albany County, NY, California, Colorado, New York City or Washington as set forth below.

Role Location: Range of Starting Pay for role:

California $73,000 to $192,600

Colorado $73,000 to $166,400

New York - Albany $67,600 to $154,100

New York City $84,500 to $192,600

Washington $77,700 to $177,200
