Position Summary:

The CNC Supervisor, 2nd Shift directly supervises all second shift staff and team leaders working within all departments. Reporting to the second shift production manager, the CNC supervisor works to improve the efficiency of operations by studying and applying generally accepted machining and manufacturing methods while keeping employees and machines engaged to meet and exceed daily, weekly and monthly delivery and output goals set by management.

Essential Functions:

  • Executes shift change plan allowing managers to effectively communicate the task and goal expectations for shift performance of each department
  • Ensures all off-shift departments are proactively working to meet the goals and objectives specified in the daily, weekly and monthly production plans
  • Enforces current facility policies to ensure building security
  • Demonstrates positive leadership qualities through employee engagement and open communication
  • Performs general manufacturing principles to drive efficiency and cost reduction processes
  • Drives quality initiatives throughout the organization to minimize and eliminate scrap, rejects and non- conformances
  • Elevates all issues immediately to the second shift production manager or senior management
  • Supports Globus Medical's compliance to federal, state, and local environmental legislation by identifying, assessing and reporting/resolving problems concerning the environment
  • Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management in an honest, professional and respectful manner, while demonstrating effective listening skills
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for senior management decisions
  • Consults with other functional management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
  • Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 10+ years of CNC manufacturing and assembly experience within the Medical Device Industry
  • 5+ years' experience in Leadership Roles, with experience training, developing, reviewing and motivating employees
  • Must have detailed experience machining various grades of steel, titanium, plastics and polymers
  • Proven high level of performance in current and previous positions
  • Working knowledge of computers and computer systems
  • Demonstrated initiative and desire to drive change and motivation to exceed expectations; self-starter
  • Flexibility with time and scheduling to assure availability to Globus as circumstances warrant
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to find solutions within production bottlenecks
  • Possesses a solid understanding of Manufacturing Principles including Process, Information and Material Flow
  • Well organized, detail oriented and team player with demonstrated skills in Project implementation and development
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter

  • Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
