What's the role?

The purpose of this position is to assess regulatory and corporate requirements as well as industry best practices in order to provide the necessary expertise for the establishment of appropriate safety program within Hilti U.S. operations.

What does the role involve?

  • Working with our Global Environmental Team, be the focal point and local subject matter expert for any matters related to Environmental.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and interprets new and pending regulations for applicable safety codes/rules that could impact Hilti US operations.
  • Develops/implements safety policies, procedures, instructions,and guidelines as appropriate to prevent losses from employee and fleet accidents.
  • Manages the successful implementation of loss prevention strategies
  • Oversees/evaluates activities to ensure compliance with established programs.
  • Conducts workplace/equipment hazard assessments and provides recommendations for improvement and/or corrective measures.
  • Evaulates the hazards of chemicalproducts used by Hilti Team Members and prepares hazard information and training as appropriate for affected Team Members.
  • Monitors for chemical contaminants and/or physical stressors to ensure a safe work environment. Provides recommendations as needed.
  • Audits the various workplaces to ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations.
  • Review accident investigation reports to ensure that appropriate root cause analysis and corrective/preventative measures have been implemented.
  • Participates in accident/incident investigations, as appropriate.
  • Responds to internal and external inquires regarding safety issues.
  • Serves at the corporate liaison with government agencies, customers, and organizations requiring safety information, records, or services.

What you need is:

Required:

  • Min 2 years Safety experience
  • Safety, Industrial Hygiene or similar bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of applicable OSHA Regulation/Programs
  • Excellent management and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS-Office)
Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or similar graduate degree
  • CSP - Certified Safety Professional
