About the role

The Accounting and Contracts Intern will assist the accounting and contracts team on various projects including but not limited to purchase order and contract reconciliations, general ledger account and contracted service reconciliations, and coordinating with vendors on conflicts of interest and fraud certifications. The intern will gain hands-on experience in an accounting and contracting environment and will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced professionals.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparation of excel reconciliation files between contracts, purchase orders, general ledger accounts, etc. Requires reading the contracts and researching Yardi purchase orders and vendor shield.
  • Research and gather data to prepare applicable state/local tax filings
  • Provide other analysis/reporting as needed

Who we're looking for

  • Current Student with GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Pursuing a degree in accounting, contracting, legal or related field
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Possession of a valid state issues driver's license and safe driving record are required

Typical Physical Demands: Regularly use hands to manipulate tools, controls, phones, and computer keyboard. Frequently stand, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, and stoop. Sit and stand to do clerical work. Regularly lift and move office supplies up to 20 lbs.

Work is performed in an office. Employee frequently interacts directly with community management, facilities management, residents and other staff members during the workday.
