DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position will oversee all operations within the permits section of the clean water program at the northeast regional office. Your responsibilities will encompass supervising and directing all activities within the permits section, with duties including interviewing and selecting candidates for positions, ensuring proper training for new employees, developing program plans, conducting regular reviews of these plans with superiors, preparing employee performance reviews (EPR), reviewing job standards with employees, handling administrative tasks such as approving timesheets and leave slips, assigning and monitoring tasks, and providing feedback on completed work within the section.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Wilkes-Barre.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years as an Environmental Engineer or an Air Quality Engineer; or
  • Five years of professional engineering experience in environmental protection or in environmental project development, design or construction.

Special Requirement:
  • This position requires possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists or a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the applicable licensing body of another state.

Conditions of Employment:
  • This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.

Post Employment Requirement:
  • Successful candidates with an out of state Professional Engineer license will be required to produce a valid Professional Engineer license issued by Pennsylvania within their initial six month probationary period.

Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
