This position requires a deep understanding of financial management in a clinical trials setting, expertise in research accounting, and a strong background in compliance and auditing. This position provides a review and analysis of the clinical research study to ensure compliance with Medicare's clinical trial policy and institutional billing compliance policies. Management of financial reports on clinical trials, oversight of compliance in clinical research billing, and thorough involvement in the reconciliation and close-out processes of clinical trials.
Key Responsibilities, but not limited to:
Financial Management and Reporting: Provide expert management of financial aspects of clinical trials post-award. Liaise with SPA and research accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Run detailed financial reports on clinical trials, focusing on budget adherence, and expenditure monitoring.
Compliance and Oversight: Oversee and ensure adherence to policies and procedures related to clinical research billing. Conduct audits and reviews to maintain compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
Reconciliation and Close-Out Processes: Manage the item-level reconciliation process in the new system for clinical trials. Oversee and facilitate the close-out process of clinical trials, ensuring accurate and compliant reporting.
Prospective Reimbursement Analysis: Validate and oversee prospective reimbursement analyses for all clinical research studies. Provide financial insights to support strategic planning in clinical trial management.
Qualifications:
Performs post-award accounting duties for small grants and contracts. Monitors account activity and prepares routine financial reports. Assists with policy and procedure interpretation and government report preparation.
Proficiency in financial management in a clinical trials setting.
Ability to carry out research accounting tasks and exhibit a profound knowledge in compliance and auditing.
Proficiency in review and analysis of the clinical research study to ensure compliance with Medicare's clinical trial policy and institutional billing compliance policies.
Ability to manage financial reports on clinical trials, oversight of compliance in clinical research billing, and thorough involvement in the reconciliation and close-out processes of clinical trials.
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
