The Department of Corrections is seeking an efficient, highly motivated person to join the Office of Administrative Services, Budget Division team as a Fiscal Management Specialist 3. NOTE: Senate Bill 411 merged the Department of Corrections and the Board of Probation and Parole. This position is within the Department of Corrections.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Management Specialist 3, you will be responsible for the technical budget preparation and monitoring of the department's Pennsylvania Parole Board Appropriations, General Government Appropriations budget, and all related funds. You will also be responsible for the development, accumulation, and assembly of the financial data. In addition, you will be managing the appropriation budgets and expenditure patterns for compliance, reviewing budget and financial reports, and preparing monthly budget projections.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (37.5-hour work week)
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to (3) days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 60 or 65.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Management Specialist 2; or
  • Two years of experience in professional fiscal administration, and a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
