In this position you will perform routine and specialized welding repair and fabrication assignments. Work includes welding, brazing, soldering, cutting, tempering, and shaping ferrous and non-ferrous metals through the operation of acetylene, arc, tungsten inert gas (TIG) or metal inert gas (MIG) welding, and related shop equipment. Responsibilities include equipment and material layout, process determination for part and equipment fabrication, metal structure or part cutting, shaping, welding, and repair for diverse applications, as well as delegating and demonstrating welding tasks to maintenance staff. The work is done autonomously, with ongoing checks during and after completion to ensure compliance with standards and timeliness.
