Job Description

Harmony Biosciences is recruiting for a Director, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) in our Plymouth Meeting, PA location. In this role you will be a key member of the Finance team, helping to drive the Company's financial performance management. Responsibilities include leading the budgeting, forecasting, financial performance management and analysis for the company's Research and Development area. The position will report directly to the Executive Director, Finance Planning and Analysis and will also work closely with the R&D and Technical Operations teams as well as Corporate Controller and support their respective leadership organizations. As such, effective communication and collaboration skills are critical to the effectiveness of the position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as a Finance Business Partner for R&D leadership by providing financial guidance related to accruals, purchase order inquiries, and journal entry investigations. Actively assist budget owners manage spend to plan while identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Support the accounting close by analyzing financial results for accuracy, determining variance drivers, and overseeing the preparation of monthly management reports and commentary.
  • Assist in the development of the annual Budget and partner with the broader Finance team on the Long-Range Plan. Perform trend and sensitivity analyses to determine potential impacts to business results of new product introductions and other market events.
  • Develop effective reporting and standards to improve current processes through automation with an emphasis on the analytics and drawing insight from the data.
  • Partner with others in Finance to ensure effective utilization of systems, application of Excel models/tools, reporting and information sharing, and overall compliance with internal controls.
  • Support Business Development activities, including support for modeling, revenue projections and valuation
  • Support broader organization through purchase order entry, ad hoc projects, and participation on cross-functional teams.
  • Provide insights, reporting, and analytics related to performance; incorporate findings from trend analyses to determine potential changes to resource allocation decisions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position is a has supervisory responsibilities, with 1 direct report currently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting is required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant finance experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry required; Experience supporting R&D is required.
  • Experience with Gross to Net calculations and analysis preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs and recommendations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, good conflict management and negotiation skills
  • Experience working with senior management and consulting with key business stakeholders
  • Strong skills in verbal and written communication, problem solving, conflict resolution, customer focus, and project management
  • Solutions-oriented team player; able to develop rapport and credibility with field and multi-disciplinary corporate staff and with external partners and vendors
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Financial Planning/Analytic tools

Physical demands and work environment:

  • Travel is estimated to be < 5% of the time for this position.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • Manual dexterity required to use computers, tablets, and cell phone.
  • Continuous sitting for prolonged periods.
