Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE: Work with our production facilities team on long range planning of inventory and production levels, daily scheduling of production and shipping requirements, and expediting activities to ensure customer satisfaction. Coordinates activities with OWI customer service and location personnel to satisfy all customer requirements.

DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Production Planning
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with production facility and centralized planning team to align production plans with overall company objectives.
  • Inventory Management
  • Implement and execute inventory strategies to achieve optimal levels, balancing between customer service goals and cost objectives.
  • Monitor and manage inventory days on hand, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Clear and process any system errors generated by production that may cause delays in shipments in a timely manner.
  • Customer Service
  • Ensure customer on-time service levels exceed 95% through effective production planning and coordination.
  • Address any customer-related concerns or inquiries promptly.
  • Communicate with plants and customer service clear and concisely to provide accurate information regarding orders.
  • Capacity and Storage Management
  • Optimize production capacity utilization while considering storage constraints.
  • Collaborate with operations to identify and address capacity challenges proactively.
  • Communication and Collaboration
  • Maintain regular communication with operations, customer support, warehousing, purchasing departments, and on-site teams to ensure smooth production operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address scheduling adherence issues and implement root cause corrective actions.
  • System Data Management
  • Utilize and maintain ERP planning systems, with a preference for experience in SAP, to ensure accurate and up-to-date production data.
  • Implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of data management processes.
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • Apply lean six sigma principles to identify opportunities for process improvement within the production planning and inventory management functions.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in production planning or a related role within the supply chain.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and experience with ERP planning systems, with SAP preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
