Job Description

Job Summary

The Maintenance Worker 3 position performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assists in the installation of new equipment.
  • Assists the Maintenance Supervisor and/or other personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
  • Follows preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Trains Level 1 and 2 Maintenance personnel.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment.
  • Changes electrical breakers and electrical starters; operates voltage, amp, and ohm meters.
  • Maintains clean, neat and orderly work area at all times.
  • Responsible for using assigned safety equipment including a hard hat, safety glasses or goggles, welding protection, and a safety harness; responsible for being familiar with and observing all Company safety rules and regulations.
  • Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 4 years experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Basic welding, piping and fabrication skills a must.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational school training preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operations.
  • General mechanical aptitude; able to diagnosis problems with motors and other equipment.
  • Good math skills; add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Demonstrated advance welding skills.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to push, pull, move or lift up to 49 lbs.
  • Frequently required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
  • May need to work nights and weekends; available "on call" as needed.

Work Environment

Job functions will be carried out in a bakery facility which requires tolerance for wet and or slippery floors and high heat or cold temperatures.
