THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Security Officer 1, you will work along a team consisting of other Security Officers and communicate with the Fire and Safety Marshal and Safety Manager to provide a safe and secure treatment environment for the care of individuals with mental illness. You will be responsible to ensure a safe environment in multiple buildings is maintained, as well as respond to emergency situations that may arise.

In this role, you will staff a control room desk, provide information to and screen visitors, patrol the campus, assist patients, and respond to unusual incidents. You will create detailed incident reports, as needed, and complete routine logs to record activities. You will also complete a wide variety of shift tasks and routines to ensure operations are in compliance with policies and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours: You may be assigned to work 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, or a floating shift. You will work any five days within a consecutive 7-day calendar period with regularly scheduled days off to include every third weekend.
  • Overtime and travel as needed
  • Work hours and days may change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirement:
  • You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
