DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This County Casework Supervisor position oversees caseworkers of BCCYF, guides decision making, ensures comprehensive investigation and service planning, covers supervised employees' caseloads when needed, and participates in supervising emergency duty. BCCYF supervisors are the main support for our caseworkers and may assist in the development and revision of department policies, procedures, and practices. You will mentor caseworkers, collaborate with community stakeholders, and work with the administrative team to lead the agency. Help lead our team in providing the resources needed to strengthen families and ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of the children we serve.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 35-hour workweek.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • This position rotates emergency duty supervisor coverage of after-hour calls for additional compensation.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    1. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
