This position will work in clinical research involving human subjects and therefore clinical Research Study Coordinator training is required, including research-specific training in Protection of Human Research Subjects, Good Clinical Practices and HIPAA compliance. Additional trainings in research methods may be required. This is an in-person position (person must reside in Pittsburgh area) to facilitate in-clinic patient recruitment and attend meetings, although work-from-home days can also be discussed. Prepares grant applications, manuscripts, Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, research papers, and assists with complex research papers. Audits research studies, monitors study budgets, resolves complex data collection issues, and implements protocol-specific study recruitment plans. Trains staff and oversees student workers; leads team meetings. Monitors study budgets and orders supplies.
Must be able to use a PC or laptop. Must have stable wifi access to be able to communicate. Must be able to travel to different clinics within 5-mile university radius. Must be able to attend some meetings and complete some functions in person.
Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to travel to different UPMC clinics within a 5-mile University radius.
