This position is responsible for providing advanced detailed electronic and mechanical support to the facility along with assistance associated with the repair and development of complex electronic and mechanical components, assemblies, subassemblies, and systems throughout the plant.

  • This position requires having a safety first minded individual. Understanding LOTO and how to identify and control the hazards in the workplace.
  • This position requires one who is multi-task oriented and a team player as well as a self-motivated individual. Must have a sense of urgency in their work ethic.
  • Trouble shoot equipment Electro/Mechanically and perform Root Cause Analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical drive components and how they work.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical transmissions, understanding gearbox ratios, horse power and torque for an application.
  • Skilled mechanical aptitude in regards to understanding pneumatic systems and hydraulic systems.
  • Repair, Maintain and Improve all plant equipment including production and all support areas.
  • Working knowledge of the tools of the trade. The right tool for the right job.
  • Experience and able to rig heavy equipment safely and properly.
  • Understanding types of slings and chains appropriate for the application.
  • Full understanding of H1 and H2 lubricants and chemicals used by the trades throughout the plant. Adheres to the policies and follows the proper procedures set in place.
  • Gather specific electrical/mechanical operational information pertaining to the operation of large systems and complex machinery used in the plant for the use of in-depth troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical components and diagnostics. Understanding of power distribution and high and low voltages. Control circuits and safety circuits.
  • Able to program PLC hardware, Operator interfaces, variable frequency drives, Servo motor control and Process controllers as needed to meet the demands.
  • Keep accurate documentation (prints, notes, etc.) on existing and future plant systems in a shared location. Be able to read and understand schematics and blue prints.
  • Communicate in a timely manner all critical issues with departmental supervision.
  • Train fellow EMT's on the operation and maintenance of complex systems and new technology implemented throughout the plant.
  • Stay updated on new trade topics.
  • Be flexible with work schedule to assist with coverage outside of normal work hours (Changes in production run times, holidays, PTO, on call rotation).
  • Follow, support, and enforce corporate decisions, policies, and objectives.
  • Assist in the timely completion of projects within the department.
  • Assist with non-technical trainings.
  • Be able to lift 100lbs worth of weight routinely.
  • Able to walk the plant all day outside of regular scheduled breaks. Able to manage time and tasks accordingly.
  • Have strong knowledge of electronic, mechanical, computer and programming principles used in the automated processes.
  • Understand the importance of Continuous Improvement and learning.

A certain amount of fundamental skills is required by management and non-management personnel to be employed in the Trades Department at the Hatfield Plant.

  • Arriving at work on time and being physically and mentally prepared to put in a full day's work is expected. Getting dirty is part of the job.
  • Electro Mechanical Technicians must be able to work in a safe manner without injuring oneself or others.
  • Training with advanced math skills, mechanical aptitude, computer literacy, and a continuous learning mentality are needed to work on complex equipment and constantly changing technologies.
  • Good problem solving skills, being able to take logical steps, ability to improvise, and being resourceful are needed to get machinery repaired in a timely manner. Electro Mechanical Technicians are expected to return all tools, prints, books, etc. to their proper places as soon as the work is completed and the work station should be kept neat.
  • Willing to follow through with projects until they are finished and with breakdowns, like getting temporary fixes, are important.
  • Electro Mechanical Technicians must be team players, have a positive attitude, act in a professional manner, and have good customer relation skills.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
