In this position, you will assist in the collection of reports, contributions (taxes), interest, penalty, and amounts due from delinquent employers. You will conduct special investigations to determine solvency or financial status of an employer and make determinations as to an employer's ability to meet payments on proposed payment agreements. You will use your effective communications skills to meet with employers in person, through telephone contact, and through written or email correspondence to determine their financial circumstances and secure a satisfactory payment arrangement. You will represent the bureau in judicial actions before a district judge in the prosecution of employers for failure to file reports, produce records for audits, or for non-payment of contributions due. Additionally, you will prepare legal documents to ensure collections are made of delinquencies protected under a bankruptcy plan, and determine the appropriate action to take on bankruptcy cases. Each case is unique and offers an abundance of new learning opportunities. You will spend some of your time traveling, working remotely and on-site with courts as well as businesses throughout Pennsylvania.
