As Sr. Paralegal, you will be a key member of a legal team of a growing and dynamic Fortune 500 company. You will provide day-to-day docket and discovery management for the employment law team and the broader litigation team. Additionally, you will administer Avantor's ethics and compliance program, including its global helpline, ethics trainings, and HR-related internal investigations. You will work collaboratively with other members of the Legal department, HR, and business areas.

What we're looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Notary Public certification a plus

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm or in-house, with employment law experience preferred

    • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint and a willingness to learn other systems, including Avantor's contract management, litigation management, and SAP systems.

    • Litigation Management preferred

    • Experience with ethics compliance management preferred

How you will create an impact:

  • Manage employment litigation matters in T360 case management system, tracking matters from inception to close

  • Manage and coordinate discovery, including e-discovery as necessary, including working with outside counsel to gather and collect documents and electronically stored information

  • Work directly with outside counsel to prepare for litigations, arbitrations, and mediations and serve as point of contact for witness preparation

  • Prepare and distribute legal hold notices utilizing ZApproved database

  • Review and respond to employment subpoenas

  • Investigate and respond to employment or wage related inquiries from external agencies such as the EEOC or DOL by collecting preliminary facts, organizing relevant documents, and preparing draft position statements for attorney review

  • Triage cases reported to Avantor's global helpline, assign users to cases, respond to reporters, and manage to case closure

  • Manage and coordinate internal investigations records, including maintaining investigation notes and records in the helpline system

  • Prepare statistical charts and reports for compliance and/or audit committee and external auditors

  • Work cross-functionally with HR to manage ethics and other mandated trainings

  • Perform administrative and project related tasks as needed, including scheduling meetings, conferences, and follow-ups on legal matters

  • Legal billing and vendor management

  • Other job duties as may be assigned
