Overview

The Supply Specialist II will perform tasks related to receiving, distribution and inventory management within the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities
    Responsibilities depend on assigned level (I, II) and hospital needs
  • Works with the Receiving & other Shift Supervisors/Managers, Inventory Control Analysts and Customer Service Specialists with requests for priority services and to report issues
  • Must be detail, action, and results oriented
  • Must demonstrate mature judgment in managing responsibilities
  • Requires specialized expertise in materials distribution and/or logistics processes, methods, and skills related to inventory management
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Discuss issues with inventory analysts, storeroom supervisors, floor supervisors and other supply chain and customer leadership, as necessary, and work with these staff to develop solutions to issues
  • Provide training and guidance for all levels of Supply Specialists, as assigned. Participate in continuous process improvement projects as directed by the Shift Supervisor
  • Fill in for other Supply Specialists, as necessary
  • Fill in for Shift Manager, in an emergency basis, when he/she is out on an unplanned absence
Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Several years of experience in hospital materials distribution, logistics or inventory management required
  • Must be a "critical thinker" with an ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment
  • Strong product knowledge a must
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communications skills are required for success in this function
  • Demonstrated good ability to prioritize work, strong organizational skills and initiative to improve processes
  • Consistently display a friendly, positive, and professional demeanor

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs
  • Repetitive motion
  • Reaching, pushing, pulling carts weighing up to 250lbs
  • Walking, standing for extended periods of time
