You will be a critical part of an experienced, talented, fast-moving cross-departmental team to steer product innovations from concept to reality. About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of experience presenting materials to internal and external stakeholders, both in-person and online.
  • 5 years of experience working as a Product Manager, or other equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience demonstrating ability to collaborate with different teams and influence across the organization.

It would be great if you also had...

  • Has a deep understanding of business drivers and key issues, sees actions holistically, and can execute on them with minimal direction.
  • Has a good understanding of commercial models and financial metrics.
  • Able to apply data analytics and business planning, ROI to matters of moderate complexity.
  • Ability to maintain a "big picture" view of the project.
  • MLS/MLISor equivalent work experiencein library industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with library products, or other relevant domains.
  • 3 years of experience building product and user stories in an agile development environment is strongly preferred.

What will you be doing in this role?...

The Product Manager gathers market-driven requirements by consulting with customers, analysts, external partners, and internal stakeholders to manage product delivery and lifecycles to achieve commercial objectives.

  • Product Strategy:
    • Define and own the product, building a long-term vision.
    • Establish a strategic roadmap, and deliver the product to the market, assuring development efforts are aligned with BU strategy.
    • Write user stories and prioritize activities to deliver features to market according to product roadmap.
    • Collaborate with integration partners, including external third parties such as publishers and LibraryThing colleagues to deliver a world class librarian experience.
    • Collaborate with internal partners, including Rialto, OASIS, and Ebook Central colleagues, to ensure a streamlined, parity experience across products.
    • Understand the integration points and risks between Summon and other solutions on the platform, as well as between publishers and the marketplaces.
  • Community Participation:
    • Lead monthly meetings with a product working group.
    • Deliver quarterly webinars.
    • Participate in user conferences.
    • Monitor and respond to questions and issues on the listserv, as well as those that rise organically.
  • Sales Support:
    • Help meet sales goals by answering RFP questions and participating in customer calls/demos.
    • Advise on the creation and editing of marketing materials to support all global regions.

About the Team:

You will be working with an established product team that collaborates internally with platform managers, UX designers, developers, content, and marketing colleagues, and externally with library customers to ensure that our solutions meet customer learning and research needs.

Hours of Work

  • Full time, permanent
  • Although duties are typically performed during normal business hours, occasional off-hours may be required
  • Hybrid position (2-3 days a week in the office)
