THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The incumbent in this position is responsible for the planning, development tasks, implementation, maintenance, testing, contract related tasks, and documentation of highly complex computer systems, developed independently or in the role of project leader, within the Commercial-Off-The-Shelf / Software as a Service (COTS/SaaS) development team within the Office of Administration (OA) Health and Human Services Delivery Center (HHS DC). The primary purpose of this position is to provide support and maintenance for Department of Health (DOH) applications. The incumbent serves as a technical and/or cross-functional lead worker or project resource for the systems development life cycle (SDLC) management of these mission critical applications used to support DOH Program Offices. Experience with Azure Dev Ops, build and code management would be beneficial to this position as you will provide support and maintenance to highly complex web applications.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may be expected to work from home (telework) full-time. You must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Note: You will be expected to work in the office 1 day per month. This could change and you may be required to come into the office, headquartered at 2525 North 7th Street, Harrisburg, more often or permanently.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Applications Developer 2 or Computer Programmer 4; or
  • Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate degree in any information technology field; or
  • Five years of information technology experience that includes three years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or
  • One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position requires you to have three or more years of full-time experience with:
    • .NET
    • VB.NET or C#
    • SQL Server or Oracle
