The Network/IT Support Admin will utilize technical knowledge and experience to respond to requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking and other related technologies to ensure successful user outcome and improve overall IT infrastructure. This position is onsite and will primarily be located in Hermitage, PA at the ECM facility and will report to the ELLWOOD Manager, IT Infrastructure. They will also support the Sharon (ECM) and the Irvine (ENC) locations within the ELLWOOD Crankshaft Group (ECG) family of companies as well as all ELLWOOD facilities, as needed. ECG is the world's largest manufacturer of large, one-of-a-kind, multiple throw crankshafts and services the locomotive, shipping, mechanical press, oil and gas and compression markets.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities include the following to be performed directly. All activities are conducted according to ELLWOOD IT policies, procedures, practices and security measures. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide first level support to ECG users in all facets of IT and help develop and enforce ELLWOOD and ECG policies and procedures.
  • Answer, evaluate, and prioritize requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, operations software, networking and other computer-related technologies.
  • Interview users to collect information about problem and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error. Log and track issues using ELLWOOD IT problem management database/ticket system.
  • Handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to higher-level technical staff.
  • Ensure network connectivity throughout the company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
  • Administer servers, routers, switches, firewalls, cameras, phone system, , security updates and patches.
  • Work with managers and team members to help solve business issues or challenges, including but not limited to: managing RFID access, developing tools and reports to monitor machine tool connectivity/up-time, managing local video systems, and other issues relating to computer systems.
  • Regular participation in ECG operational staff meetings,
  • Abide by all ELLWOOD policies and procedures, including safety regulations and work rules.
  • Meets attendance requirements.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in basic network administration tasks in a multi-site environment.
  • Demonstrated work experience with firewall management, file server backup technologies, VMWare architecture & technologies, and Microsoft Windows Server and Office 365.
  • Demonstrated work experience configuring PCs, networks, and related troubleshooting.
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
