Job Description

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Conflicts Advisor in our Philadelphia office. Reporting to the Director, Conflicts Analysis and Lateral Intake, the Conflicts Advisor provides substantive support to lateral partner analysis and intake function as well as participates in the implementation and modification of ethical walls.

A hybrid in-office/remote working schedule is available for this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with the Office of General Counsel to implement new ethical walls, make modifications to existing ethical walls, and prepare and send screening memos to firm personnel.

  • Reviews conflicts waivers obtained in connection with new business intake and lateral hiring to ascertain screening requirements.

  • Compiles and reviews intake materials of potential lateral partners and other legal and non-legal staff.

  • Identifies portability issues and conducts appropriate outreach as necessary.

  • Works directly with lateral partners to collect urgent portable work information.

  • Completes intake requests for all corresponding matters.

  • Assigns and tracks provisional numbers for portable work.

  • Maintains Was/Is list to track incoming matters.

  • Works with appropriate IT staff to facilitate electronic transfer of corresponding data.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

This job requires:

  • a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, and

  • a minimum 3 years of Client and Matter Administration experience, or, equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Technical skills including, but not limited to: Outlook, Excel, Elegrity, Word

  • Project management skills.

  • Planning/organizational skills.

  • Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands.
