U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated building maintenance services company, is currently accepting resumes for the position of Facility Maintenance Mechanic. This position is responsible for the operation, repair, and maintenance of domestic hot and cold-water systems, sanitary drainage systems, plumbing fixtures (standard and security styles) and facility piping repairs (domestic water mainly), along with duties of a Maintenance Mechanic outside of plumbing.

Duties involve:

  1. Assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, according to specifications and applicable codes.
  2. Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
  3. Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools. Cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine.
  4. Assembles and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass and lead, and nonmetals, such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic, using hand tools and power tools.
  5. Joins pipe by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulk joints. Knowledge of all piping connections and use of machines to accomplish connections.
  6. Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.
  7. Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, water fountains.
  8. Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains.

May be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth above to address business needs and changing business practices.

Qualifications:

  1. HS diploma, GED or Trade School
  2. Minimum five (3) years' experience working with Plumbing.
  3. Basic literacy and the strength and dexterity required to perform heavy lifting tasks.
  4. Team player with a strong work ethic and maneuverability.
  5. Must have a history of safe work practices and safety training.
  6. Must possess basic computer skills.
  7. Must be able to communicate effectively.
  8. Must have a willingness to learn new skills and assist co-workers.
  1. Valid Driver's license
