Technician/Machine Operator

Triumvirate Environmental (BestPlus), one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an (onsite) Technician/ Machine Operator for our Jeannette, PA team. This position reports to the shift supervisor. The pay rate for this position is $20/hr. and the schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8:00pm to 6:30am. This highly motivated, self -sufficient, safety-oriented individual is responsible for various tasks including unloading/loading trailers, operating machines that breakdown waste and clean containers.

Our BestPLUS recycled plastic lumber business is part of a larger strategy to help customers become greener and more sustainable. We've developed a proprietary process that converts a variety of waste materials into multiple grades and profiles of plastic lumber for many applications and markets. Our products and solutions have been well-received by the market. We are looking for a high energy sales pro to help us reach more customers and geographies.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Ability to learn to operate, maintain and set up different types of shredding/grinding/cleaning machines.
  • Resolve issues related to day-to-day operations and maintenance.
  • Responsible for calibrating probes and monitoring PH of processed waste.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Required to clear jams and clean the machine daily in conjunction with the maintenance department.
  • Monitor machine performance/condition and notify maintenance of any issues.
  • Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations and Triumvirate's Health and Safety Practices.
  • Respect and build working relationships with co-workers.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be creative and solve unique problems.
  • Regular/Daily cleaning of work area and tools.
  • Load/ Unload trailers.
  • Wear all the required PPE.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Graduate (or equivalent)
  • Ability to operate large precision shop machinery.
  • Strong aptitude in problem solving and process improvement.
  • Ability to articulate problems and solutions verbally.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and personal initiative related to problem resolution professionally.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Capable of managing stressful situations.

  • Forklift experience
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Detail oriented
  • Works well with a team
  • Takes direction/criticism positively.
  • Willingness to learn.

This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE position.
