We are currently seeking Production Workers for our melting department at the Brackenridge Operations in Brackenridge, Pennsylvania (suburb of Pittsburgh). ATI Production Workers are vital to our success and play a key role in meeting company goals and objectives. Successful Production Workers ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently and are able to identify opportunities to enhance production efficiencies without compromising quality. Workplace safety is a core value and production workers play a vital role in our safe operation and processes.

As a Production Worker you must be willing to work multiple shifts, weekends, and overtime in our heavy industrial environment. Applicants must pass written tests to verify reading & math skills and electrical & mechanical aptitude.

Melting Department:

The Brackenridge Melt shop has a multi-step manufacturing process to cast metal into slabs or ingots that are used in a variety of industries. Our facility has two 110 ton Electric Arc Furnaces and a 120 ton Argon Oxygen Decarburization (AOD) vessel. The raw materials used in the melting process are coarse stainless steel scrap, turnings and slag formers. After initial melting the metal is transferred to the AOD vessel where it is subjected to three steps of refining: decarburization, reduction, and desulphurization. The AOD operation also involves refining, stirring and tapping the heat in a teeming ladle.

Production Workers in the Melt Shop can be involved in any of the following functions:

  • Pouring of the molten metal
  • Tapping the heat
  • Operating the following types of equipment: Skid steer; Fork truck; Payloader; Lull; Pendant Crane; Remote Radio-Controlled Crane; Vac truck
  • Supports and assists in maintenance activities such as: Greasing/Lubing equipment, maintenance checks on mobile equipment before operation, serves as "extra hand" with maintenance employees when asked.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent & one or more years of experience in manufacturing, farming, military, or other industrial environment.

OR

  • Vo-Tech Certificate or Associate Degree in electrical, mechanical or other related curriculum.

Successful candidates should also have the ability to:

  • Work shifts, weekends, and overtime in an industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely as a team member.
  • Complete a computerized tests to verify reading, math and problem-solving skills.
