Job Description

o Developing interfaces using the appropriate standard or protocol (such as: HL7, CCD, XML, X12, SFTP, HTTPS, FHIR, web services, API, or other interoperability standards and protocols) according to the documented specifications.

o Coding interface logic using programming and scripting languages that lead to efficient use of the resources provided and meets customers' needs while adhering to quality standards set by management.

o Effectively use interface engines (such as: Epic Bridges, Cerner OPENLink, Capsule, GE Carescape, Philips Intellibridge) to meet the health system needs.

o Maintaining Epic certification for the application(s) they support.

o Reviewing and implementing new application features for upgrades and applying special update packages, along with enhancement requests and ticket resolution.

Essential Accountabilities:

* Integrate, build and support organization-wide systems, applications and interfaces.

* Design documentation (Interface Business Requirements)

* Test script development and participation in testing efforts

* Advises and directs others on application of system integration principles to support business goals.

* Manage the entire cycle of interface application development, including analysis, design, specification, implementation, go-live, and support.

* Identify and navigate potential issues in order to meet deadlines and schedules.

* Collaborate with other IT analysts and vendors to identify system optimization and enhancements in order to design and implement effective solutions.

* Attend meetings to discuss team and project related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates.

* Travel to various locations, including occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.

* Achieves and maintains certification status in assigned application(s) and working knowledge of other related applications.

* Work closely with end users to identify business needs and the cost and benefits of implementing a solution. Log, track, analyze, resolve issues, and coordinate system changes.

* Complete project tasks within timeline as assigned. Champion the project, provide support in the ongoing implementations, optimizations, and upgrades.

Experience:

* Epic experience preferred. Minimum of two (2) years recent healthcare information systems or clinical management systems experience.

* 2 years of Epic Bridges Interface experience preferred.

* 2 years of experience in IT EMR applications, HL7, and EDI standards preferred.

* Experience with Cerner OPENLink Integration Engine or other Integration Engine preferred.

* Experience with FTP/SFTP preferably using GoAnyWhere Managed File Transfer Solution preferred.

* Interface experience, including development, testing, implementation and support.

* Experience in the following interfaces preferred: Lab, Radiology, Cardiology, ADT, Scheduling, Pharmacy, Charges, and Device Integration.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in technology, clinical or related field, and/or equivalent experience/training.
