InterMetro Industries is seeking a Staff Accountant for our Corporate HQ located in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to learn and grow in an industry leading company. The Staff Accountant provides accounting support and service through journal processing, data verification, data inputs, account reconciliation and analysis, reporting and issue resolution. In addition, this role ensures that financial and management reports, reconciliations, analysis and assigned tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner. The Staff Accountant provides assistance to the month-end close process.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  1. Gathers appropriate data, prepares necessary journal entries, completes reconciliation, and analyzes data to ensure proper accounting is reported monthly/ quarterly /yearly.
  2. Prepares, consolidates, reconciles, and analyzes various weekly and monthly financial and management reports.
  3. Collects data, including customer exemption certificates, and confirms accuracy before entering into system to ensure accurate financial reports.
  4. Compiles financial information for the preparation of the Corporate State and Federal tax returns.
  5. Performs analytical review on assigned General Ledger accounts and researches and resolves unexpected or unusual results.
  6. Assists with and/or owns projects, as assigned, such as audits, fixed assets, physical inventory, acquisitions, restructuring initiatives, budgets, and standard costs.
  7. Possesses knowledge and understanding of the InterMetro Code of Business Ethics. Contributes to a workplace environment that is conducive to the maintenance of the Code. Remains alert and sensitive to situations that could result in actions by an employee that are illegal, unethical, in violation of the Code or the policies and procedures that support the Code. Reports actual or perceived violations of the Code or Company policies and procedures for appropriate action.
  8. Other duties, as assigned.

The qualified candidate will possess:

  1. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  2. A combination of education and work experience in a similar capacity will be considered.
