Division Overview:

Crown's Food Division is one of the leading manufacturer of food cans in the world. Our complete array of food packaging serves a variety of markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder and other dry food products. We offer a wide selection of food cans from round to bowl as well as shaped cans. We truly focus on excellence. Here is your chance to join the Crown Food Division.

Location:

Plant 37 is located in Hanover, PA. The Plant manufactures 2-piece and 3-piece cans for the food industry over 7 shifts. There are approximately 95 employees at the Hanover location. The Hanover Plant is located on Route 194 in York County and is in close proximity to York, PA, Gettysburg, PA and the Maryland border.

Position Overview:

The Purchasing Clerkwill be responsible for a supporting purchasing functions and tasks in addition to supporting the other function teams with administrative functions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Production Control Manager, the Purchasing Clerk responsibilities would include, but not limited to, the following;

  • Data entry and daily coordination of purchase orders and invoices
  • Obtain pricing quotes from vendors
  • Assist in setting up new vendors
  • Monthly reconciliation of P-Card purchases
  • Manage Certificate of Liability process
  • Order office supplies and other various plant supplies and items as needed; manage inventory control of items
  • Backup payroll processing
  • Assist functional teams (Accounting, Production Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Human Resources) with various administrative duties and reporting as assigned
  • Follow safe working practices and participate in site safety programs
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in roles with administrative, customer service or purchasing responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally communicate with a range of customers, internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Able to work independently or with a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly in Excel and Word

Preferred Requirements

  • Associates Degree
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of AS400

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneels , crouch, or crawl
  • The team member may lift and/or move up to 10 lbs

Working Conditions

  • Generally works in a an office environment, but may be required to perform some job duties inside the plant environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, forklift traffic, a range of temperatures and loud noise levels
