At the Department of Corrections (DOC), State Correctional Institute (SCI) at Coal Township, basic dental services are provided in a compassionate and professional manner to our inmate population. You will enjoy clinical autonomy and a balanced lifestyle. We operate on Monday through Friday during normal business hours. There are no evening, weekend, or on call duties. You will be able to work with experienced auxiliary staff and will have excellent managerial support. Many of our facilities are located in or near some of the most beautiful areas of Pennsylvania. In this role, you will supervise the daily work of the institution's dental staff and be responsible for all aspects of the clinical dental services provided to the inmate population, including periodic examinations, diagnosing oral diseases, and treating injuries. You will provide basic dental care and perform all dental treatment; assist specialists in the performance of treatment and related duties while onsite; and assure that adequate security, tool control, and Toxic and Caustic Control are carried out within the dental office. You will consult with and refer inmate patients to physicians, oral surgeons, and other health care professionals.
