Position Summary

Employment Specialist provides direct vocational assessment, job development, and job coaching services to participants. The Employment Specialist will participate in identifying needed support to overcome barriers to employment. The foundation of all activities will focus on individual recovery through meaningful community participation, contribution, and membership.

Essential Duties and Functions

CCW's Employment Specialist is focused on Development and Coaching of artists in their work as self-employed artists. In addition to job duties listed above, job duties also include:

* Assessing for the direction and interest level of the individual

* Developing all aspects of self employment as an artist with individuals.

* Working with individuals to develop, promote and sell their work

* Assist in quality control of an individual's product

* Act as an assistant in some areas of production of the artistic product

* Assist in organizing and accompany an individual to sales events

* Spend time in the community with an individual to source materials, network for their business, promote their work and approach businesses to carry products

* Work with a team to maintain the studio for SE artists

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree. Preference given to a degree in an art related field.

* 2 year experience in community based vocational experience or in building and promotion of professional art and/or design practices or in building a small business

* Knowledge of community resources, experience in consumer advocacy, and the capability of participation in a team format is essential.

* Must have a valid driver's license .

* Must be willing to perform all job-related travel associated with this position.


Working conditions

This position is set in an office/studio environment as well as out in the community while supporting program participants. While performing the duties of the job, employees are frequently required to stand, walk, lift, and reach. Position requires travel throughout the community supported by the program.
