As a Communications Partner, you will support marketing communications and branding for PPG's communications and public affairs team. As a member of this team, you will work in a fast-paced environment with members of PPG's communications, marketing, and community relations teams.
You will report to the Director, Marketing Communications and help deliver global brand guidelines, on-brand visuals, collateral and templates for global use, company collateral, company marketing campaigns, sponsorship agreements and materials.
Key Responsibilities
Write, edit, and proofread communications materials, including website copy, fact sheets, social posts, newsletter content, talking points, intranet content, e-blasts, and coordinating appropriate approvals for dissemination.
Ensure that the PPG Brand Guidelines are up to date and coordinate updated content with agency partners.
Conduct brand training sessions for both large teams and small groups, with the ability to engage and adapt for each setting.
Review content for adherence to PPG Brand Guidelines and coach teams on how to effectively apply the guidelines to communications materials.
Work closely with the communications team to identify storytelling opportunities and "maximize the moment" across channels.
Track, analyze, and present data with a storytelling approach.
Manage key corporate sponsorships and partner with the businesses to help maximize other sponsorships that can help drive brand awareness for PPG.
Manage logistics and technology platforms associated with events, large meetings, podcasting, etc., including Microsoft Teams.
Liaise with external partners to ensure all assets in PPG's corporate sponsorships are utilized within the contract year.
Coordinate translations of communications as needed.
Coordinate with freelance writers and assist with special projects as needed.
Manage agency partnerships and/or outside consultants/freelancers to deliver initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing communications, public relations or a related discipline.
3-5 years of experience in corporate communications, marketing communications or related field.
Strong knowledge of branding principles.
Ability to connect and partner collaboratively at all levels within an organization.
Exceptional writing skills and working knowledge of Associated Press style.
Thorough knowledge of business writing, editing and proofreading.
Excellent planning, organization and project management skills.
Event planning experience.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams; SAP familiarity preferred.
Experience in a large, global organization.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team.
Ability to be on-site at PPG's global headquarters in Downtown Pittsburgh three days per week.
About 10% travel may be required.
