Roxbury is currently hiring a full-time Mental Health Therapist. This position works with adolescents ages 13 - 17 and also assists on our adult psychiatric unit. The MH Therapist scheduled is day shift, Sunday - Thursday each week.

The Mental Health Therapist - assesses the patient's drug and alcohol and mental health history, establishes treatment goals and provides therapeutic and educational services in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Roxbury Treatment Center.

Job Duties and Responsbilities:

• Determines the appropriate level of care
• Maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients

Must possess knowledge of dual diagnosis/chemical dependency/mental health patients; age-specific patient issues, limit setting and behavior management, crisis prevention and intervention techniques; knowledge and comprehension of regulatory agency standards (DOH, DPW, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.); staff development procedures and requirements; ability to communicate orally, telephonically, and in writing; working knowledge of computer systems and various software. Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team player. Good documentation, organization and time management skills are necessary. Must be effective in decision-making and problem solving.

Mental Health Therapist Job Requirements:

Master's Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in Psychology or other related field which includes a practicum in health or human service agency preferred.

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in Psychology or other related field and one year of clinical experience (minimum 1820 hours) in a health or human services agency required.
