Summary of Responsibilities:

The Program Specialist works in collaboration with the Director of the Pennsylvania Residential Services, Senior Program Specialist and Team Facilitator, Staff and Consumers to develop, manage and deliver programs and services within the guidelines of our State and County regulatory bodies. The position provides ISP Services for persons with developmental disabilities and supports all aspects of the Program to include Day Services, Community Recreation, Supported Employment, Home Based Waiver and the development and support of new programs.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Plans and ensures the delivery of Services and activities for participants of the Residential Services Program;
  • Supports the Program Director / Specialists, State, County and others to ensure that Consumer benefits are maintained;
  • Coordinates interdisciplinary activities for all current and existing Consumer Programs;
  • Monitors the progress of the ISP process to include scheduling, assessment, attendance, content/outcomes and approval. Assures the ISP is reflective of the Individual's participating in the program. Ensures that staff are trained on all participant ISP's and updates the Support Plans (ongoing);
  • Coordinates ISP Meetings. Assists in facilitating staff communication and training of updates and outcomes;
  • Tracks Behavior Plans and their progress. Tracks response to Incident Reports and quality improvement measures;
  • Works in coordination with the Program Director to fill program vacancies and open positions. Manages and oversees individual and programming budget and service units;
  • Assures compliancy for Annual Provider Monitoring. Instructs all Annual Certification trainings and other staff training as needed;
  • Performs other duties, as assigned by the Program Director.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited university / college and one year supervisory experience in Adult Services preferred. Bachelor's Degree and two years' work experience with people with disabilities in Adult Services. Associate's degree / 60 credits from an accredited institution and four years' work experience with people with disabilities are required. Experience preferred in one of the following areas: Human Services, Special Education, Psychology, Public Health, Rehabilitation, Social Work, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Therapeutic Recreation;
  • Work experience in an industry that supports individuals (adults and children) with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred. Experience supporting individuals with Mental / Behavioral Health diagnosis will be considered. Minimum of 2 years' experience working with Adults with IDD preferred;
  • Strong leadership, management and supervisory skills. Demonstrated ability to manage staff, achieve outcomes and support the implementation and operation of services, programs and activities;
  • Working knowledge of regulatory standards, excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated teaching and management skills. Strong problem solving, presentation and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Possess a valid driver's license and three years driving experience. May be required to provide automobile insurance and vehicle registration;
  • Ability to meet both the physical and essential requirements of the position as outlined in job description.
