About the role

SIGN-ON BONUS ELIGIBLE

As a Control Room Operator, you will execute the approved plant start-up and shutdown procedures to ensure that the facility meets its operational, environmental, and safety commitments while operating in a safe and environmentally efficient manner.

• Provide guidance to Crane, Auxiliary, and Back Plant Operators to maintain a safe and efficient operation

• Effectively monitor Covanta operations systems and have a strong working knowledge of boiler, turbine, and auxiliary equipment operations

• Experienced in reading blueprints, P&IDs, and schematic specifications

• Manage critical events and prioritize tasks for completion at times during emergency, providing clear directions in operational, safety, and environmental tasks

• Respond to operational alarms, taking immediate corrective action

• Demonstrate a solid understanding of operational best practices, including theability to problem solve and make sound decisions that supports Covanta's safety and operational goals

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Successful completion of the ASME QRO Provisional Licensing exam is required within the first year of holding the position

• Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
