Responsibilities

Roxbury is currently hiring a Director of Intake to oversee our admissions department.

The position is responsible for supervising all aspects of the Intake Department. The Director of Intake coordinates the referral and intake process, and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and Intake and Transportation staff. Primary responsibilities include: Managing the program census, providing administrative management, training and supervision/evaluation of all intake staff; prioritization and delegation of duties; staff and program scheduling; ongoing program compliance audits; and performing direct patient care services in the Intake capacity. This individual serves as a key member of hospital leadership and must work in cooperation with physician staff and other department managers.

Must possess knowledge of dual diagnosis/chemical dependency/mental health patients; age-specific patient issues, limit setting and behavior management, crisis prevention and intervention techniques; knowledge and comprehension of regulatory agency standards (DOH, DPW, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.); staff development procedures and requirements; ability to communicate orally, telephonically, and in writing; working knowledge of computer systems and various software. Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team player. Good documentation, organization and time management skills are necessary. Must be effective in decision-making and problem solving.

Qualifications

Director of Intake Job Requirements:

  • Master's Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in Education, Psychology or other related field which includes a practicum in health or human service agency preferred.
  • Two years experience in admissions/intake or behavioral healthcare environment required. Supervisory experience preferred.
