External Description

The Payroll Specialist III performs a variety of complex technical payroll responsibilities in the preparation and process of employees across multi-states sites and entities with ~10,000 employees. Assures employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner; prepare, process, maintain and assure accuracy of a variety of employee payroll information, forms, records, and reports.

  • Process multi tax jurisdiction payrolls for ~10,000 employees on a Weekly, Biweekly and Monthly pay frequency; managing a pay group from beginning to end. Pay cycles include Hourly, Salaried and Monthly employees to ensuring compliance with all payrolls regulatory changes as well as adhering to internal policies and procedures.
  • Review and verify punch in-out timecards for hourly employees, overtime, and unapproved time-off requests prior to processing payroll.
  • Process New Hire, terminations, and LOA into the ADP WFN system.
  • Union reporting which includes welfare benefits and union dues.
  • Verify funds for stop payments are properly credited to accounts.
  • Conduct year-end close reporting for W2's.
  • Process open enrollment documentation.
  • Maintain tax changes, garnishments, and payroll deductions.
  • Research and correct issues found during processing.
  • Process payments that include bonus payments and other types of compensation activities.
  • Monitor the payroll call center line and payroll help desk email box to resolve employee inquiries and issues.
  • Perform special projects as needed.

Requirements

The successful candidate will meet or exceed the following:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Associates Degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience multi-state/multi-site payroll processing
