- THE POSITION
- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Bureau of Operations is seeking a student intern to assist the Highway Safety and Traffic Operations Division with crash analysis.

In this position, you will be responsible for analyzing crash data, which encompasses data from wrong-way crashes, cross-median crashes, and vulnerable road users (VRU) like pedestrians, cyclists, motorcycles, and more. Additionally, you will also review assessments of low-cost safety improvement projects and analyze right turn on red (RTOR) projects.
This internship will allow you to develop your technical skills, apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects, and work alongside engineering professionals who are passionate about innovation and excellence.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Compensation is credit based:
- Less than 90 credits - $20.35
- Over 90 credits - $21.22

- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Students who are interested in a PennDOT internship must meet all of the following requirements:- Must be a high school graduate or college student enrolled (or intending to enroll) on a full-time or part-time basis in a 2- or 4- year post-secondary education program for the fall semester.
- Enrolled part or full-time for the next semester by the start of the internship in an applicable major.
- In good academic standing (as defined by a GPA of 2.0 or higher).
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Special Requirement: Certain positions require a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Majors:- Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
