Job Description

  • Prepare and present multiple therapeutic mental health groups per week on topics relevant to the current student population.
  • Possess strong behavior modification skills.
  • Complete crisis intervention training and assist with crisis intervention and stabilization strategies as needed.
  • Actively collect and communicate data related to behavior.
  • Observe, record, and communicate psychological/psychiatric behaviors.
  • Develop and maintain an environment which is non-threatening, safe, nurturing and where students and their families feel respected, accepted, and welcome.
  • Utilize a schoolwide/classroom level positive behavior system in the management of group and client behaviors.
  • Effectively communicate expectations enforce boundaries and consequences.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to complete daily written documentation and participate in team staff meeting
  • Possess strong word processing skills and the ability to use cloud-based technology for documentation.
  • Communicate and work cooperatively with coworkers and students to meet student needs.
  • Adhere to legal and ethical standards in the provision of behavioral health and educational services.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Social Services (or related field)
  • At least one year of experience in mental health preferred.
  • Pennsylvania State Police Clearance
  • Child Abuse Clearance
  • FBI Fingerprinting
  • School Health Form: Physical and Tuberculosis Test
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education Form 6004: Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification
  • Act 126- Mandated Reporter
