Description

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant for our Claysburg Family Practice. The CMA performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of the operations of the office.

Qualifications

Essential Functions:

Performs EKG testing and phlebotomy for patients as directed.

Assists with provision of testing/vaccines (e.g., Mantoux, flu vaccine) to appropriate persons (e.g. Nason staff, contracted providers, other OH clients).

Maintains patient care equipment, reports malfunctions and requisitions service appropriately.

Promptly answers patient/staff requests and fulfills appropriate staff to respond to need as soon as possible.

Provides courier and other supportive services for other departments as applicable.

Regularly reports complaints of patients, visitors, and physicians.

Serves as a receptionist for incoming patients and visitors.

Offers assistance and provides direction to visitors, patients and families in a concise, informative manner and demonstrates a courteous and positive attitude.

Introduces self and greets others in a pleasant manner.

Attends all mandatory trainings and completes all required Life Talent education assignments within a timely manner. Keeps updated regarding Medical Center changes through meeting attendance and review of posted information; attends briefs, debriefs, and huddles.

Abides by and references the Employee Handbook and other pertinent facility policies, including clinical, non-clinical, safety, and infection control.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Education

Graduate of Medical Assistant course, with clinical curriculum required.

Minimum Work Experience

One year of healthcare experience preferred (e.g., medical office, phlebotomy).

Experience with use of computers, copiers, faxes, and other clerical duties.

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and reflects kindness, understanding, respect, good humor and/or ability to relate positively with patients, families, and co-workers.

Attendance pattern shows evidence of dependability and reliability.

Certifications:

BLS certification completion within 3 months of hire.
