Job Description

in the initiation of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, relapse, and chemotherapy resistance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • With guidance of the PI, design, perform, and record experiments following standard laboratory procedures, improve/update current methods/protocols and optimize innovative techniques.
  • Independently develop scientific hypotheses related to ongoing work in the laboratory, design and perform experiments to test hypotheses, collect and analyze results.
  • Independently collect and assemble data for any type of oral or poster presentation, draft and write abstracts, manuscripts, review articles, and scientific reports.
  • Perform some animal colony maintenance and in vivo experimental studies, including but not limited to transplantation, PDX and drug treatment studies with disease monitoring (peripheral blood, spleen, and bone marrow analyses and in vivo imaging).
  • Serve as a mentor in the lab to graduate and undergraduate students and technicians.
  • Prepares oral and written reports for the P.I. on research to include, but not limited to: coherently and effectively communicating our laboratory research for grants and oral presentations.
  • Follow policies and procedures according to approved IBC, Radiation Safety, and IACUC protocols. Maintain up-to-date on all TJU, safety, and animal trainings.
  • Follow policies and procedures governing the handling of confidential information as defined by TJU. Ensure timeliness, accuracy, availability, and security of information.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of Jefferson.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Ph.D., or M.D. or Ph.D./M.D. in cellular biology, biochemistry and molecular biology, hematology or stem cell biology, cancer biology, immunology, or related fields.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Previous experience of multi-omics sequencing analysis will be preferred.
