Position Title: Professional Practices Audit Manager

Business Unit: Audit

Reports to: Chief Audit Executive

Position Overview:

This position is primarily responsible for Internal Audit Professional Practices and the administration of FNB's Internal Audit Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP), in accordance with the IIA's International Professional Practices Framework, and includes implementation plans necessary to drive Internal Audit's continuous improvement initiatives and professional practices development.

Primary Responsibilities:

The QAIP function is to be structured and managed to drive continuous improvement in Internal Audit practices through the maintenance of a QAIP that covers all aspects of the internal auditing activity, including conformity with the Institute of Internal Auditors' International Professional Practice Standards and Code of Ethics (the IIA Standards), and regulatory requirements.

The Professional Practices Audit Manager position is to ensure Internal Audit can continuously deliver best in class internal audit services to FNB, providing assurance to stakeholders that Internal Audit performs in accordance with its Charter and operates in an effective and efficient manner.

The QAIP should provide assurance that Internal Audit's work is documented in conformance with FNB's Internal Audit Methodology and the IIA Standards.

The QAIP process is to encompass the entirety of the Audit Universe and should extend to all core Internal Audit processes and reporting mechanisms in line with IIA and regulatory expectations.

The QAIP process is to assess FNB's Internal Audit standards against industry and regulatory requirements to ensure continued compliance.

The QAIP Manager performs audit quality reviews designed to assess and facilitate group-wide conformance with IIA and adopted professional standards, and executes horizontal assessments of conformance with processes to inform guidelines and training opportunities.

The QAIP Manager reviews results with the Chief Audit Executive, Audit Management and Lead Auditors, and prepares reports of results for management and board (Audit Committee) deliverables.

The QAIP Manager develops/enhances or facilitates the development/enhancement of relevant standards, methodologies, common audit programs, quality review programs, and other initiatives undertaken for the benefit of the Internal Audit Department; and oversees/coordinates/provides training, as needed.

The QAIP Manager proactively advises Internal Audit management on developments in QAIP and IIA guidance, and participates in external reviews, including requests by external auditors and regulators, and manages stakeholder needs and expectations.

The QAIP Manager researches benchmarking against best in class audit practices and monitors key performance indicators.

Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
