Job Description

The Clinical Nurse Educator for the Emergency Departmentfunctions as an educational expert providing supervision, coaching and evaluation of nurse residents in roles associated with all programs for clinical entry. Responsible for the overall coordination and management of the Emergency Department Nurse Residency Program, including the development and implementation of the program curriculum, overseeing nurse resident progression through program components, and development of creative teaching strategies for program delivery. Facilitates program data collection and outcomes tracking as appropriate. Completes an annual organizational profile. Partners with nursing leadership to develop innovative strategies for retention of nurse residents

Full Time, Day Shift

Education/Training/Experience:

Registered Nurses (RN), Bachelors in nursing (BSN) required. Masters in nursing (MSN) required.

Minimum of 3 or more years of medical surgical, intensive care, or specialty nursing experience in an acute care setting.

Three or more years of instructional experience, both formal and informal.

Demonstrated leadership and program management skills with experience in developing and implementing programs.

Previous Nurse Residency Coordinator experience preferred.

Displays excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Demonstrates competency in teaching/learning process, organizational skills and computer literacy.

Licenses/Certifications: Licensed as a Professional Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania. Certification in specialty preferred.

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
