Job Description/Essential Functions:

Horizon House, Inc. is a nationally recognized provider of services to adults with support needs due to developmental disabilities, behavioral health issues, and substance abuse. Horizon House is Pennsylvania's oldest psychiatric rehabilitation agency. Since 1952, we have been dedicated to helping people with mental illness, drug and alcohol addictions, developmental/intellectual disabilities, and homelessness to stabilize their lives and to help them live as independently as possible in the community. With over 100 locations throughout South and North Eastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware, Horizon House provides services to a diverse population focusing on individual strength and choice.


We are seeking a full time Manager to manage and supervise the daily operations of client service; advocates for individual rehabilitation, growth and development options and to implement rehabilitation service plans and recommend adjustments to established support systems.

Responsibilities include thefollowing:
  • To ensure compliance with all applicable contract regulations and Agency policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the Program, to ensure a safe, secure, healthy and pleasant environment in compliance with funding source and licensing requirements.
  • Coordinate and review required program documentation, logs, and reports; ensure documentation is complete, accurate and processed on a timely basis; submit special reports, as assigned.
  • Participate in the analysis and identification of service delivery gaps, changes and problems, under the guidance of the Director and implement appropriate action plans.
  • Participate in the evaluation of residential referrals and placements.
  • Oversee petty cash account for site expenses; monitor overall program monies in compliance with budgetary parameters; participate in the development of annual site budget, with Program Director.
Job Qualifications:

  • B.A./B.S. degree in Human Services/Social Sciences, Healthcare or a related field, and 3-4 years of experience in the MH/MR or related field, at least 1-2 years of supervisory experience; or any combination of experience, education or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational skills.
Scope:
  • Frequent talking and listening.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, fold, kneel, reach, stack, stoop and bend which may include direct intervention with clients.
  • Must be available for local travel.
  • Possess manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • May require crisis intervention to emergency situations.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • May be required to attend training to become a certified agency investigator. May conduct investigations and participate in the agency rotation of on-call investigators. This requires carrying a beeper and responding to investigation hotline calls during on-call beeper coverage.
