CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Assistant Controller to join our Finance Team from either Boston, MA; Albany, NY; Brooklyn, NY; Indianapolis, IN; Atlanta, GA; Orlando, FL; Miami, FL; or Melbourne, FL.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA's corporate groups support our technical sectors and market teams with financial, legal, business development and marketing, human resources, information technology and operational services to meet our clients' evolving needs.

The Assistant Controller has primary responsibility to build strong cross functional business partnerships with senior leaders in their sector through the development and implementation of financial modeling concepts or techniques and the interpretation of results related to planning, budgeting, and forecasting, to drive positive business results.

Together with Business Line leadership teams, the Assistant Controller develops the controls and processes essential to ensuring profitability projections are regularly met. This key role is also responsible for serving as a liaison with the Finance team and leading the financial budget process for their Business Lines to include important information such as revenue and gross margin budget overhead expense budget, etc. The Assistant Controller is also expected to serve as a liaison between the Project Accounting team to ensure projects are set up in a manner that properly reflects the contractual requirements.

Additionally, this individual is expected to maintain a comprehensive understanding of the different allocations impacting Business Line performance. The Assistant Controller maintains, develops, and implements processes that enhance cash management and expense management.

REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in progressive finance leadership roles
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing processes that support financial performance and predictability
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience required
  • Experience working in a project accounting environment required
  • Progressive responsibility in finance roles required
  • Ability to coach individuals with little financial background
  • Team player and ability to lead change in a positive manner
  • Strategic thinker capable of discerning how tactical moves will impact the organization's long-term sustainability and growth
  • Highly driven with the ability to provide solid judgement and analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to present complex issues in a simple, logical, and succinct manner
  • Experience with corporate budgeting/accounting systems
  • Deltek, Power BI, SharePoint experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills including ability to communicate analyses and recommendations to senior management
  • Ability to travel (less than 5% of the time)
