We are currently seeking Electrical Distribution Technician to join our Electric Distribution Team based in Blacksburg, VA. This role offers a flexible working environment and requires regional travel.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA promotes the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production and delivery of natural gas and electricity. Our team will help define an energy vision, identify the feasibility of conservation measures, and work with local regulatory agencies to secure potential funding. Together, we will enhance the reliability of existing transmission and distribution networks, evaluate, and retrofit facilities for smart consumption, and expand your usage of alternative energy.

The Electrical Distribution Technician role at CHA is a unique opportunity for tech-savvy individuals who enjoy working independently in a variety of different environments. In this role, analysts will spend approximately 50% of their time traveling to client field locations to gather data using state of the art equipment. The right candidate will be a motivated self-starter who enjoys learning, is comfortable using technology, and can manage their time appropriately. REQUIREMENTS
    High School diploma required, Associate degree in a related field preferred
  • No experience is required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
  • Experience with power distribution is preferred; GIS experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS is a plus
  • Must have ability to learn Work Management systems, AutoCAD, and SAP
  • Ability to work/stand for long periods of time in various weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Travel (50%) and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions is required
